The Bridgnorth Community Bus Services
We have two 15 seater buses and one 14 seater bus all are wheelchair accessible – and operate regular minibus services into Bridgnorth town from areas which are not adequately served by existing public transport. Current services include : -
- A twice-weekly service from Claverley to Bridgnorth (on Tuesday and Saturday mornings)
- A weekly (Wednesday morning) service from Hampton Loade (east side of river) to Bridgnorth
- A weekly (Thursday morning) service from Burwarton, Ditton Priors, Cleobury North, Neenton and Chetton to Bridgnorth
- A weekly (Saturday morning) service from Cleobury Mortimer, Neen Savage, Stottesdon, Chorley, Billingsley and Deuxhill to Bridgnorth
- A monthly (first Thursday) service from Alveley, Hampton Loade and Quatt to Bridgnorth.
- Service from the Oldbury Wells area of Bridgnorth to the town centre (UNDER REVIEW)
Users of our services need to become members of the Group, but this is a simple process (which can be arranged on your first journey with us) and annual membership only costs £5.
We also make our minibuses available to local voluntary groups. Groups can provide their own (trained) driver or we can provide one of our volunteer drivers if required. We make a modest charge to cover our operating costs. Group membership costs £15.
The cost of hire used by groups is £1.10 per mile for the 1st 100 miles then £0.60 for every mile thereafter.
Please give as much notice as possible is required when booking the bus for a group because a driver needs to allocated for the group.
Should you wish to become members of the BCTG either as an individual or a group please complete the application form and send to the address provided.
Bridgnorth Voluntary Car Scheme
Bridgnorth Voluntary Car Scheme is wholly voluntary and is one of the oldest schemes of its kind in the country. The volunteer drivers use their own cars to provide transport for people who don’t have reasonable access to a car or public transport. They make a small charge towards the fuel costs and appreciate as much advance notice as possible. Bridgnorth Community Transport takes all bookings for the scheme.
Volunteer Drivers Wanted
Car drivers pick up people from their own homes and take them to medical appointments or on other essential journeys. A mileage allowance is paid to cover the cost of using your own car for these trips. If you can spare a few hours or one or two days a week to become one of our volunteer car drivers then please contact us on 01746 768539.
Mini Bus Drivers:
If you fancy volunteering to drive a mini bus for us, have some spare time and perhaps want to give something back to the community please contact us on 01746 768539. You need to be aged between 25 and 70. Full training to MiDAS standard will be provided.
